Biblical Observations Focusing on Jesus - The Living Word. Spiritual and Biblical Exposition
Biblical Observations

The important thing to consider when looking at Scripture is:

How does what you read in the Bible relate to Jesus? Because really, so much of the Bible (Old and New Testament) relates to the Lord. Whether it is on the subject of His first advent or the coming millennial reign of Christ on Earth, it all relates to Him. And so much of the study of the Jewish feasts and holidays relates to the Lord as well.

The other thing to consider is: What is the Lord telling you in His Word? Because spiritually, the Lord will use His Word to speak to you on a variety of subjects. That is one reason people call it the Living Word. Just as Jesus is the Living Water that never stops, His Word never stops, either.

"And Heaven and Earth will pass away, but my Word will never pass away." - Matthew 24:35.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. - Isaiah 55:11.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. - Hebrews 4:12.

We are encouraged to read and meditate on God's Word because it is eternal and true in its nature. Before reading we should pray that the Holy Spirit will speak to our hearts and reveal to us what He wants us to see.

Jesus said: "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. - John 6:63.

Prayer: Lord, please open our eyes that we may know you better through your Word. Speak to our hearts and transform us through your Holy Scripture. Lord, you know the deepest thoughts in our hearts. Bring us into a more complete fellowship with you by a deeper insight into your word. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
