Mission
The day to day mission of Lamp-Light Ministries is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ who is the King of Kings, Lord of Lords and the Light of the World.
The purpose is to reach others with the Good News that a close, personal relationship can be enjoyed with our Creator and an abundant, joyful, and eternal life can be experienced by knowing Jesus as Lord of your life.
The mission of Lamp-Light Ministries is based on the following three passages of Scripture all making references to the light of the lamp.
Glorify God by Sharing the Good News with others and doing good works
Matthew 5:14-16
"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
We are told to put our lamp on a stand so that others can see the glory of God and praise our Father in Heaven. This can be translated in a variety of tasks for us to do in our daily lives in service to the Lord Jesus: Sharing the Gospel with others, doing good deeds, and working for our employers as if we were working for the Lord.
Teach and Study the Word
Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
The Word of God, the Bible, lights the way for us in our day to day lives. Its inerrant truth inspired by God, gives us instruction with which to live our lives, foretells the future, and transforms us into who God wants us to be: His children.
Be Ready for the Imminent Rapture of all Born Again Believers in Christ
Matthew 25:1-13
"Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
And at midnight a cry was heard: "Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him! ' Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, "Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' But the wise answered, saying, "No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, "Lord, Lord, open to us! ' But he answered and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.' "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming."
This Scripture teaches the need for us to have oil for our lamps so that we will be filled with the Holy Spirit and ready and looking for the day when the Lord Jesus will catch us up to be with Him. And the Bible instructs us to "be filled with the Spirit." - Ephesians 5:16b
"And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares." - Luke 21:34
Being filled with the Spirit means there is oil in our Lamp for us to see the Way to the Lord.
